As a Psychiatrist trained in New York, Dr. Megwinoff takes a very balanced approach to the treatment of psychiatric disorders in which only after careful assessment does she formulate a treatment plan. Her thoughtful approach is designed to avoid over-medication of her patients, especially the children she treats.
In her training at NYU Langone Medical Center, Dr. Megwinoff was exposed to and gained an expertise in the treatment of substance abuse disorders and chemical dependency.
Dr. Megwinoff draws on her training in Family Psychiatry and her work with addiction and alcoholism to have an added specialty in treating family members (including children and spouses) of addicted persons.
